What is Out-of-School Time?

Afterschool and out-of-school time (OST) programs provide young people with safe, engaging, and enriching opportunities beyond the traditional school day. These programs can take place before or after school, or throughout the summer months. High-quality OST experiences help students build meaningful relationships with supportive adults, explore new interests, strengthen academic and social-emotional skills, and develop confidence and life skills that support long-term success.
