The Kentucky Afterschool e-Academy offers a robust suite of professional development opportunities tailored exclusively for afterschool and out-of-school educators and program professionals. Learners can choose from the Afterschool Certificate Series, a comprehensive 36-course program developed with Child Care Aware that aligns with Weikert and SACERS standards; the School-Age Series, a 33-course collection from the California Department of Education focused on quality care and education; the Kentucky HEPA Standards 2.0 Course, which builds educator capacity around healthy eating and physical activity in alignment with Kentucky Academic Standards; and the School-Age Brilliance Badge Learning Pathway, a KYOSA-developed pathway that connects coursework directly to Kentucky Division of Child Care's digital badging recognition for out-of-school professionals. Together, these offerings provide a connected, career-building learning experience designed to elevate the quality of afterschool programs across Kentucky.
The Afterschool Certificate Series is a 36-course series, developed by CypherWorx and Child Care Aware, aimed at enhancing the skills of those working in afterschool and other out of school programs. It provides a comprehensive set of online courses designed to support educators, program coordinators, and staff members who work with school-age children.
The School-Age Brilliance Badge Learning Pathway, developed by KYOSA with support from the C.E. and S. Foundation, is a learning pathway that is based on the Afterschool Certificate Series and has been aligned with the requirements of the Kentucky Division of Child Care’s new digital badging opportunity specifically geared towards those working with school-age youth in afterschool and other out of school program settings.
The Kentucky Healthy Eating and Physical Activity (HEPA) Standards 2.0 course is designed to equip afterschool educators and program administrators with the knowledge and skills necessary to promote healthy eating and physical activity among students. This course aligns with the Kentucky Academic Standards for Health Education, which emphasize the importance of health-enhancing behaviors and practices.

1–10 learners — $75 per user
11–25 learners — $72.50 per user
26–50 learners — $70 per user
51–100 learners — $67.50 per user
100+ learners — $65 per user
Kentucky Afterschool e-Academy membership is $75/learner/year. Bulk discounts are available for large organizations.
Group Registration
Organizations that would like to register multiple users and take advantage of group rates can do so by completing this form: Group Registration Form.
Once submitted, CypherWorx will send your organization an invoice based on the number of learner accounts requested and collect any additional information, as required to set up your group account. Once payment is received, each learner will then be able to register themselves and access the e-Academy.

While many courses within the Kentucky Afterschool e-Academy are approved for ECE-TRIS credit on an annual basis, it is CRITICAL to check the Calendar/Approved Trainings area within ECE-TRIS before beginning a training course, paying special attention to the approved date/time ranges listed. Please refer to the ECE-TRIS website for further guidance.
Additionally, the email address associated with your KYOSA e-Academy account MUST match the email address associated with your ECE-TRIS account. ECE-TRIS will not be able to award credit for e-Academy courses unless these two email addresses match. For questions regarding what email address is associated with your ECE-TRIS account, please contact ECE-TRIS.
Note from ECE-TRIS Regarding Obtaining Credit Hours for Approved Non-Face to Face Training:
To receive credit in ECE-TRIS, the following requirements must be met:
Any participation activities or ‘knowledge checks’ must be adequately completed as determined by the training agency and/or trainer, to demonstrate that the course learning outcomes have been achieved. If it is determined you did not spend the approved time or your assignments were incomplete, credit will not be awarded by the agency.
The time spent in training must closely match the approved clock hours awarded. Content completed in less time than the approved clock hours can be detected and will be reported by the training agency and/or trainer.

We do not impose time limits when it comes to completing courses. Your course registrations do not expire and progress is saved indefinitely.

You can log out at any time during a course. The system will “bookmark” (remember) where you stopped. When you reenter the course, it will start where you last left off.

Yes, you may retake a test if you don’t pass (receive a score of 80% or higher) the first time. If you do not pass the test on your second attempt, you must retake the course to receive a completion certificate.
