KYOSA E-Academy

The Kentucky Afterschool e-Academy offers a robust suite of professional development opportunities tailored exclusively for out-of-school time professionals.

Learners have hundreds of classes to choose from and three curated series. These offerings provide a connected, career-building learning experience designed to elevate the quality of afterschool programs across Kentucky.

The Afterschool Certificate Series is a 36-course series, developed by CypherWorx and Roberta Newman, aimed at enhancing the skills of those working in afterschool and other out of school programs. It provides a comprehensive set of online courses designed to support educators, program coordinators, and staff members who work with school-age children.

The School-Age Brilliance Badge Learning Pathway, developed by KYOSA with support from the C.E. and S. Foundation, is a learning pathway that is based on the Afterschool Certificate Series and has been aligned with the requirements of the Kentucky Division of Child Care’s new digital badging opportunity specifically geared towards those working with school-age youth in afterschool and other out of school program settings.

The Kentucky Healthy Eating and Physical Activity (HEPA) Standards 2.0 course is designed to equip afterschool educators and program administrators with the knowledge and skills necessary to promote healthy eating and physical activity among students. This course aligns with the Kentucky Academic Standards for Health Education, which emphasize the importance of health-enhancing behaviors and practices.
